Start fastening pieces together until something desk-shaped appears. Build the simplest stable version and ignore the decorative extras. Lay out every piece and work out what each one probably does. Search for a tutorial before touching anything. Study the connections, then redesign the desk to fit the room better.

3. You must arrange one small room for meetings, exercise, meals, and hobbies. What is your solution? *

Fit everything inside and accept that navigating the room is now a challenge. Use folding tables, rolling shelves, and movable furniture. Remove anything unnecessary and keep only the essential equipment. Divide it into clearly labeled sections. Create one flexible layout that changes purpose with almost no reset time.

4. Nobody in the room can agree on what music to play. How do you settle it? *

Turn it off. A good room should not need a soundtrack. Hand the controls to the nearest person and escape responsibility. Let everyone contribute one song and rotate fairly. Play something unusual and see how people respond. Choose music that matches the energy the room needs.

5. A tree in your yard has grown around an abandoned bicycle. What should happen to it? *

Redesign the yard so the tree and bicycle become the centerpiece. Cut the bicycle free...bikes ain't cheap! Leave it as it is and declare it a neighborhood landmark. Support the tree and document how it continues adapting. Remove only the bicycle parts that are restricting healthy growth.

6. You receive a large box filled with cables. What is your system? *

Keep all of them because one may be important in seventeen years. Test every cable and label it properly. Build one clean, adaptable setup that uses as few cables as possible. Sort them by connector type and deal with the rest later. Keep only the reliable cables that serve a clear purpose.

7. A recipe tells you to “fold gently until just combined.” What does that mean? *

Ask what “fold” means while stirring aggressively. Watch a YouTube video before continuing. Stop when the texture feels right, without needing to count. Use a sturdy spoon and mix only as much as necessary. Follow the written steps carefully and count each turn.

8. The town clock has been exactly seven minutes slow for decades. Everyone knows this. What should be done? *

Change it only if the difference causes an actual problem. Accept it as the local standard because the entire town has already adapted. Add a sign explaining that the clock is seven minutes slow. Repair it. A clock should display the correct time. Adjust local schedules around it and continue normally.

9. You're asked to explain something difficult. How do you approach it? *

Use one clear analogy and a simple example. Ask what they already understand before explaining anything. Begin with the full history so no context is missing. Start confidently in the middle, then realize I skipped three necessary definitions. Demonstrate it physically with whatever objects are nearby.

10. One shelf in a library has every book arranged backward. What do you do? *

Leave it alone until I understand its purpose. Examine the titles and look for a pattern. Turn them all around immediately. Work out whether the arrangement reveals a hidden category. Ask the librarian whether it was intentional.
